Role Overview

The Executive Pastry Chef is a leadership role that involves managing all aspects of the pastry kitchen. This includes overseeing daily operations, developing and refining recipes, mentoring the pastry team, and ensuring high standards for quality, creativity, and consistency.

Reports to: Store Manager and Ownership Team

Compensation

  • Pay: $25.00 – $35.00 per hour (based on experience and proficiency).

Key Responsibilities

  1. Leadership and Team Management

    • Oversee the pastry team, providing mentorship and fostering professional growth.
    • Create a positive and efficient work environment.
    • Set performance standards and ensure alignment with  goals.
  2. Menu Development and Innovation

    • Lead the creation of visually stunning and delicious desserts, including cookies, petit gâteau-style cakes, and seasonal items.
    • Research and adapt to market trends, introducing fresh ideas to the menu.
  3. Kitchen Operations

    • Manage inventory, purchasing, and cost control to ensure efficiency and profitability.
    • Implement and maintain food safety and cleanliness standards.
    • Develop production schedules to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery.
  4. Quality Assurance

    • Maintain high standards for taste, presentation, and consistency.
    • Conduct regular quality checks and provide constructive feedback to the team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional pastry experience, including leadership roles.
  • Expertise in dessert development, recipe creation, and plating.
  • Proven ability to manage kitchen operations and inventory.
  • Experience mentoring and leading pastry teams.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.

Working Hours

  • Full-time position: Approximately 40 hours per week, ideally spread over 5-6 days.
  • Weekend availability required, typically limited to one weekend day per week.

  • In-person at our Koreatown location: Los Angeles, CA 90005.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Salary/Hourly ($27.00 – $35.00)
